Özel Mikro Tıbbi Patoloji Laboratuvarı was established in İzmir in 1993 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ragıp Ortaç and Prof. Dr. Aydın İşisağ. Our center, one of the city's oldest pathology laboratories, has been providing uninterrupted service since its establishment. Our expert staff, strengthened by the participation of Dr. Murat Ermete, Pathologist in 2013, has continuously increased its test capacity and analysis diversity over the years. As of 2024, the annual number of pathological examinations has reached 52,500, and currently, services are provided to 9 private hospitals and medical centers. In addition to routine pathology services, advanced diagnostic techniques are also successfully applied in our laboratory. Immunohistochemical analyses performed with 147 different antibodies shed light on diagnosis and treatment in many areas such as determining tumor subtypes, lymphoma classification, and primary focus determination. In addition, immunofluorescence, histochemical staining, and HPV genotyping studies are also performed on kidney and skin biopsies. Some studies that can shed light on targeted tumor therapy can be performed. Thanks to our experience in pediatric pathology, perinatal autopsies can also be performed in detail.
